Counter-trafficking sits at the core of Hope Iwacu Initiative’s mission. We work across prevention, protection, survivor support, and public advocacy to disrupt trafficking before it happens and to support people rebuilding their lives after it.
Prevention work includes community awareness campaigns, roadside billboards, and targeted training for groups at heightened risk — including hospitality-sector staff, who are often the first to observe warning signs. Protection work means direct support for survivors: psychosocial care, economic reintegration, and a compassionate, non-judgmental welcome home.
We also advocate for stronger national legal frameworks and closer coordination between government, civil society, and communities — because sustainable prevention depends on systems, not just individual awareness.
