Launched in 2021, the Safe Space Tuseme (“Speak Out”) program gives young people a structured, supported space to discuss the challenges affecting their education, safety, and wellbeing — using dialogue and theatre to build confidence and leadership skills.
Clubs currently run in 8 schools across Rukomo and Rwempasha sectors (Nyagatare District) and GS Rugarama (Gatsibo District), supported by more than 46 trained gatekeepers who help keep these spaces secure and trusted.
The Umusare radio drama series extends these same messages far beyond the classroom — now on its 46th episode, reaching households across the listening area with storylines that model healthy conversations about SRHR and the real risks of trafficking.
