Awareness only translates into protection when the people closest to a community know what to look for and what to do next. Hope Iwacu Initiative trains local leaders, youth focal persons, teachers, and hospitality-sector staff to recognize the indicators of trafficking and respond appropriately.
Recent trainings have engaged staff from Kigali Serena Hotel, Ubumwe Grande Hotel, and Radisson Blu Hotel — covering front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, security, HR, and guest relations teams — as well as Training-of-Trainers sessions on national human rights monitoring and UPR coalition work.
This capacity stays in the community long after any single campaign ends, building a durable, local first line of response.
