Lasting change requires more than program delivery — it requires systems that protect people by default. Hope Iwacu Initiative works with the Ministry of Justice, GIZ Rwanda’s Right-Based Programme, and civil-society partners to advocate for stronger anti-trafficking laws and better-coordinated national response systems.
Our advocacy is grounded in what we see on the ground: national campaigns like the awareness drive in Kirehe District, one of Rwanda’s higher-risk border areas, directly inform the policy conversations we bring to government and partner tables.
We also contribute to human rights monitoring efforts, including Universal Periodic Review (UPR) coalition work, helping ensure Rwanda’s national commitments translate into protection that reaches the community level.
